Piedmont Hills had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Pioneer Mustangs by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The final score came out to 25-22, 17-25, 25-17, 26-24.

Zimo Zhou paced Piedmont Hills' offense, picking up 18 kills. Zhou got some help from Allison Williams and her 26 assists. Williams was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Piedmont Hills has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Silver Creek on the 2nd. As for Pioneer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against San Lorenzo Valley on the 2nd.
