Basketball Recap: Francis W. Parker Extends Winning Streak to Three

Francis W. Parker extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Miles Johnson. The Francis W. Parker Colonels walked away with a 57-44 win over the Beacon Academy Trailblazers on Wednesday thanks in part to Johnson, who went 12 for 27 on his way to 33 points and six steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lev Goldman, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and five assists. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game.

Francis W. Parker's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Beacon Academy, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Francis W. Parker won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bremen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Beacon Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lycee Francais de Chicago at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
