Softball Recap: Lackey Drops Season-High Score on Westlake

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lackey). They were the clear victors by a 21-11 margin over the Westlake Wolverines on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Chargers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Lackey has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Westlake, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lackey will square off against rival McDonough on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Westlake is set to face off against their familiar foe Leonardtown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
