Glastonbury faced Maloney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Guardians fell 3-1 to the Spartans. The Guardians' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 24-26, 25-17, 25-18.

Sid Nitin paced Glastonbury's offense, picking up nine kills. Nitin got some help from Dan Park and his 26 assists. Alex Niland controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Glastonbury's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Maloney, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1.

Looking ahead, Glastonbury will head out to face off against Cheshire at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maloney, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lewis Mills at 5:00 p.m.
