Preview: St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse vs. Pomeroy Pirates
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse is 1-9 against Pomeroy since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pomeroy Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
On Saturday, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Wilbur-Creston-Keller an easy 68-45 win.
Meanwhile, Pomeroy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They secured a 45-39 W over Garfield-Palouse.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pomeroy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trace Roberts, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Roberts' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Oliver Severs, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Pomeroy, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse ended up a good deal behind Pomeroy when the teams last played back in January, losing 67-53. Thankfully for St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse, Trevin Kimble (who scored 20 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
