Volleyball Recap: Lopez Has No Trouble Against Porter

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, Lopez was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Porter Cowboys with a sharp 3-0 victory. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Lobos this season.

Lopez was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-16.

Jasmine Cortinas had a dynamite game, getting 15 digs, ten kills, and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 34 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chalene Granado, who had 16 assists and 12 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Lopez was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Lopez's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Porter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Lopez will take on La Feria at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Porter, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hidalgo Early College at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
