Basketball Recap: Banner County Falls Despite Big Games from Karlye Dittbenner and Kyrie Roldan

Banner County played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 46-21 to the Weldon Valley Warriors. The Wildcats have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Banner County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyrie Roldan, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards, and Karlye Dittbenner, who posted no points. Roldan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Annie Onufrak was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 15 boards, and ten steals for Weldon Valley. That's the most rebounds Onufrak has posted since back in January of 2024. Jordan Iungerich was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to nine boards and six steals.

Banner County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Weldon Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Banner County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 37-13 loss against Creek Valley on the 3rd. Weldon Valley has also already played their next contest, a 47-32 defeat against Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian on the 4th.
