It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Irene/Wakonda had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 68-47 margin over Freeman Academy/Marion. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-39 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Irene/Wakonda to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayden Hansen, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 23 points. What's more, Hansen also posted a 63% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jens Hansen was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and six boards.

Irene/Wakonda's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Freeman Academy/Marion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Irene/Wakonda will head out on the road to take on Viborg/Hurley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Irene/Wakonda is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. Freeman Academy/Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
