Volleyball Recap: Lake Park Starts off Right with Win over West Aurora

Lake Park took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the West Aurora Blackhawks 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lancers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Lake Park had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 25-19.

Carter Gibbons paced Lake Park's offense, picking up 13 kills. Gibbons got some help from Jake Ellenbecker and his 22 assists.

Lake Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against York on the 26th. As for West Aurora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Neuqua Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
