Peabody's last matchup with Ferriday could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Warhorses came up short against the Trojans, falling 29-19. The Warhorses' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Peabody saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J Smith, who went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Amir Carter was another, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.

Peabody's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Ferriday, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Peabody will venture away from home to face off against Washington-Marion at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warhorses' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargin' Indians have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Ferriday, they will challenge Vidalia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
