Basketball Recap: Manual Comes Up Short

If Manual was riding high fresh off their 62-23 takedown of DSST: Conservatory Green last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Manual Thunderbolts were beaten by the Northfield Nighthawks 62-28 on Tuesday. The Thunderbolts were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Aliyah Herron continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northfield, going 6-for-12 to rack up 13 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Herron has become a key player for Northfield: the team is 10-4 when she posts at least three steals, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Alena Vondracek, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 13 points.

Manual's loss dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Northfield, their record is now 11-9.

Coming up, Manual will challenge Denver South at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northfield, they will be playing at home against Rangeview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.
