Basketball Recap: Wyandanch Comes Up Short

Wyandanch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 44-35 to the Rocky Point Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-37 back in January.

Despite the loss, Wyandanch still got an impressive performance from Nyasia Murphy, who went 8 of 11 en route to 19 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Murphy a new career-high in steals. Nevaeh Hewitt was another key player, putting up five points and 25 boards.

Wyandanch's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Rocky Point, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Wyandanch will challenge Westhampton Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
