Volleyball Recap: Reading Memorial Beats Arlington for Their Third Straight Victory

Reading Memorial waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Arlington Spy Ponders as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Reading Memorial never let Arlington on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-22.

Mary Furey paced Reading Memorial's offense, picking up 11 kills. Furey got some help from Gianna Miceli and her 16 assists. Miceli was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Reading Memorial's record is now 10-3. As for Arlington, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Reading Memorial is set to take on their familiar foe Wakefield Memorial at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Arlington will challenge rival Melrose at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
