The DuBois Beavers will head out to face off against the Clearfield Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. DuBois is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Clearfield will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: DuBois extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Beavers walked away with a 4-1 victory over State College.
The team relied heavily on Samson Deeb, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Clearfield came out on top against Bradford on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run sixth inning. The Bison were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Owls. The win continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won three in a row.
Jayce Brothers made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Clearfield: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Noah Wriglesworth was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Clearfield's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hayden Rumsky, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Clearfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory got Clearfield back to even at 9-9. As for DuBois, their record now sits at 15-3.
DuBois' speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. The Beavers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Clearfield, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will DuBois continue to outrun the ball?
DuBois couldn't quite finish off Clearfield when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 6-4. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
