Basketball Recap: Atlantic City's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Atlantic City fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Holy Cross on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Holy Cross Lancers by a score of 53-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since January 8, 2024.

Atlantic City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chris Finks, who posted ten points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamir Rex, who earned 12 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holy Cross to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmanuel Doku, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tony Kelly, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points.

Atlantic City has already played their next contest, a 56-53 victory against Lower Cape May on the 29th. As for Holy Cross, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-34 win against Moorestown Friends on the 28th.
