Basketball Game Preview: Florala Wildcats vs. Pleasant Home Eagles

The Florala Wildcats will challenge the Pleasant Home Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Florala is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

Florala is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They really took it to Emmanuel Christian for the full four quarters, racking up an 86-20 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Elijah McMeans and Jayden Bradberry were among the main playmakers for Florala as the former made all 8 shots he took racking up 16 points and the latter posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Bradberry a new career-high in assists (five). Ayden Brooks was another key player, going 6 of 8 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Florala smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pleasant Home, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They took down Kinston 71-55 on Saturday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Florala's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Pleasant Home, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
