Volleyball Recap: Champaign Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Champaign Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Normal West Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroons of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21.

Brin Armstrong paced Champaign Central's offense, picking up seven kills. Armstrong were helped by Ava Clark and Erin Armstrong, who contributed two assists each. Hayden Curtis controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Champaign Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Normal West, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Champaign Central and Normal West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Maroons will take on Bloomington Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (394 vs. 20). Meanwhile, Normal West (ranked 211th) will meet Bradley-Bourbonnais (ranked 88th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
