Football Recap: Huntland Skates Past Community with Ease + How To Watch

Huntland won the last time they faced Community and things went their way on Friday too. The Hornets breezed past the Vikings/Viqueens to the tune of 46-7.

Huntland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Jernigan, who rushed for 39 yards and one TD, and also threw for 36 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Jernigan a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Another back making a difference was Alfonso Cabera, who rushed for 74 yards and one score on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Huntland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 288 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Huntland now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Community, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Huntland will take on Richland on Friday. This will be the Hornets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Community, they will square off against Cannon County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
