Basketball Game Preview: Henry Clay Blue Devils vs. Nicholas County Bluejackets

The Henry Clay Blue Devils will square off against the Nicholas County Bluejackets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Henry Clay is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Henry Clay had to suffer through a 79-48 loss at the hands of Lafayette. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Generals are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Nicholas County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. The game between them and Madison Central didn't end well, with Nicholas County falling 69-53. The Bluejackets were down 58-36 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Nicholas County's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Henry Clay, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Henry Clay was able to grind out a solid win over Nicholas County in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 41-30. Does Henry Clay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nicholas County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
