Volleyball Recap: Norwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Purcell Marian on Thursday, Norwood came back down to earth. The Indians took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mariemont Warriors on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-8.

Samantha Gaughan was the offensive standout of the match as she had nine digs and three aces.

Norwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mariemont, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Norwood will host Middletown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mariemont, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against New Richmond on the 23rd.
