Baseball Recap: Green Valley Comes Up Short

Green Valley had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 15-16 to make it five. They fell 3-0 to the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners. The Gators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Roadrunners earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Green Valley got a good showing from Grant Morris, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Morris didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

As for Southeast Career Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On Southeast Career Tech's side, Harmon Nelson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Nelson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Southeast Career Tech's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tiernon Wolf, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Green Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southeast Career Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Sol at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Roadrunners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
