            Baseball Recap: St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers vs. Monroeville Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            St. Mary Central Catholic extended their winning streak  to four  on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 15-10 in the process. They were the clear victors by  a  13-1 margin over the Monroeville Eagles. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

St. Mary Central Catholic got a great performance from  Eli Dinsmore as he  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits (and only one walk). Those  seven  strikeouts gave  Dinsmore a new career-high.
 On the hitting side,  Blake Finneran and  Reid Wikel did most of the damage at the plate:  Finneran  went a perfect 1-for-1 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI, while  Wikel  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Wikel has become a key player for St. Mary Central Catholic: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Grant Swain, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 St. Mary Central Catholic  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .571. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
As for Monroeville,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 13-10 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss they have suffered  since April 30th.
 On Monroeville's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jaxson Hedrick, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  run.
 Looking ahead, St. Mary Central Catholic will challenge Danbury at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Monroeville, they will square off against Margaretta at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
