Basketball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Box Elder Bees

Viewmont has gone 9-1 against Box Elder recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Viewmont Vikings will be playing at home against the Box Elder Bees at 5:15 p.m. Viewmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Viewmont came up short against Bountiful and fell 63-50. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the RedHawks recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mara Mickelson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Mary Carr was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Box Elder opened the new year with a less-than-successful 57-48 defeat to Woods Cross. The Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Box Elder's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Viewmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Viewmont couldn't quite finish off Box Elder in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 47-45. Can Viewmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
