Volleyball Recap: Oak Ridge Trojans vs. Valley Christian Warriors

With a playoff game on the line, Oak Ridge rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Valley Christian Warriors 3-2. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Oak Ridge who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 12-25, 25-15, 23-25, 15-10.

Avery Towne paced Oak Ridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Towne got some help from Ella Hieb and her 15 assists. Towne was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 24-14 record this season. As for Valley Christian, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-16.
