Baseball Recap: Boonville Takes a Loss

The Boonville Pioneers came up short against the Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats on Saturday, falling 8-2.

Jaxon McKain was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. Hunter Tyson was another key player, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with one run.

Boonville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Evansville Mater Dei, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Boonville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-3 win against Princeton on the 13th. As for Evansville Mater Dei, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Evansville North on the 12th.
