Basketball Recap: Wilkes Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wilkes Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Iredell Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 48-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Wilkes Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Iredell, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wilkes Central will face off against Bandys at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Iredell, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against St. Stephens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
