The Minneola Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Cunningham at home by a decisive 80-65 margin. Minneola found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 15 to 5 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Minneola lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eli Lang. Despite the final result, he shot 6-for-11 from long range and dropped a triple-double on 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. Tyson Klotz was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 4 steals.
Cunningham was led to victory by Will Wegerer and Luke Albers. Wegerer dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Albers scored 34 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke McGuire, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Minneola's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Cunningham, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
