Preview: Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls vs. Onalaska Wildcats

Anderson-Shiro is 8-2 against Onalaska since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Onalaska Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Anderson-Shiro will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

Anderson-Shiro stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 79-45 victory over Shepherd on the road. Anderson-Shiro's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Onalaska came up short against New Waverly on Friday and fell 53-46. Onalaska has not had much luck with New Waverly recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Onalaska had strong showings from Mary Joy Cariaga, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, and Shaylan Linear, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Tyerman, who scored nine points.

Anderson-Shiro is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Onalaska, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Everything came up roses for Anderson-Shiro against Onalaska when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-29 victory. Will Anderson-Shiro repeat their success, or does Onalaska have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
