They put the hurt on the Blazers with a sharp 22-12 win. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Samantha Hopkins was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lielle Baird, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
Highlands Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-0 margin over Highlands Christian.
Gabriella Bird and Reese Mittauer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Bird pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Highlands Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475.
