Softball Recap: South Tahoe Drops Highest Score of Season Against Sparks

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Tahoe). Everything went their way against the Sparks Railroaders on Friday as they made off with a 25-8 victory. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Railroaders on Friday, they had to take a 6-3 loss.

South Tahoe got a massive performance out of Haylee Boring, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, Boring posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Samantha Ebright was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

South Tahoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

South Tahoe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.2 runs over those games. As for Sparks, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. South Tahoe is set to square off against their familiar foe North Valleys at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th. Meanwhile, Sparks will challenge rival Wooster at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
