Football Recap: Jenks Takes a Loss

Jenks faced Bixby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans were outmatched by the Spartans and fell 66-35. The game was a close 38-35 at the break, but unfortunately for the Trojans it sure didn't stay that way.

Bixby had a senior duo take command as Jayson Moll rushed for 278 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.1 yards per carry and Carson Kirby threw for 266 yards and six touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Moll's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Cetcher DeHart did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 41 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jenks fell to 3-1. As for Bixby, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Jenks will square off against Norman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Bixby, they will face off against Moore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
