Volleyball Recap: Westville Has No Trouble Against Tri-Township

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Westville walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tri-Township Tigers on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blackhawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brayden Griffin paced Westville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Griffin got some help from Tyler Massengill and his 15 assists. Massengill also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Mark Wert, racking up two apiece.

Westville's win bumped their record up to 8-17. As for Tri-Township, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Westville will take on Washington Township at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Senators will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Blackhawks surely won't give up without a fight. Tri-Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
