Baseball Recap: Crivitz Wolverines vs. Southern Door Eagles
Crivitz had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 9-8 to make it five. They fell just short of the Southern Door Eagles by a score of 1-0. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.
As for Southern Door, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games.
For Southern Door's part, not much got past Nicholas Beck, who gave up just three hits to keep Crivitz off the board. Beck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Southern Door's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Collin Everard, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Crivitz will challenge Kewaunee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Door, they will host Sevastopol at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
