Baseball Game Preview: Wyatt Chaparrals vs. South Hills Scorpions

Wyatt hasn't had much luck against South Hills recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chaparrals are taking a road trip to challenge the Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. Wyatt has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Wyatt's offense. They came up short against Polytechnic on Friday, falling 34-0. The Chaparrals just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, South Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Arlington Heights. That's two games in a row now that the Scorpions have lost by exactly two runs.

South Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 7-14-2. As for Wyatt, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Wyatt took their win against South Hills in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chaparrals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
