Basketball Game Preview: Spruce Mountain Phoenix vs. Mount Abram Roadrunners

The Spruce Mountain Phoenix will head out to challenge the Mount Abram Roadrunners at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Spruce Mountain is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Saturday, Spruce Mountain made easy work of Madison and carried off a 53-28 victory. The Phoenix have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mount Abram, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They snuck past Maranacook with a 38-34 win on Monday.

Spruce Mountain pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.8 points. As for Mount Abram, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Spruce Mountain against Mount Abram in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured an 80-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spruce Mountain since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
