Softball Recap: Tri-Valley Takes a Loss

Tri-Valley suffered their biggest defeat since May 11, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Tolono Unity Rockets, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Tri-Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4-1. As for Tolono Unity, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Tri-Valley and Tolono Unity should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Vikings will square off against Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (114 vs. 469). Meanwhile, Tolono Unity (ranked 33rd) will meet St. Thomas More (ranked 546th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
