Baseball Recap: Entrepreneur Panthers vs. Miller Rebels
Entrepreneur extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-12 in the process. They lost 26-0 to the Miller Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.
As for Miller, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games.
For Miller's part, Ilya Ridge was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Ridge also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Miller is 9-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise. Ridge was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Nathan Lora was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Michael Castillo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four runs and two RBI.
While Entrepreneur had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
