Softball Recap: Pymatuning Valley Takes a Loss

Pymatuning Valley suffered their biggest loss since May 10, 2024 on Monday. They lost 15-5 to the Mathews Mustangs. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Nataleigh Haines made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Allison Clark, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Pymatuning Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Mathews, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Pymatuning Valley and Mathews should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Lakers (ranked 238th) will meet Conneaut (ranked 507th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mathews will challenge Lowellville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (136 vs. 524).
