Preview: North Salinas vs. Seaside
North Salinas is 8-0-2 against Seaside since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The North Salinas Vikings will be playing at home against the Seaside Spartans at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.
Last Tuesday, North Salinas' game was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hollister and snuck past 2-1.
Meanwhile, Seaside had just enough and edged Greenfield out 2-1 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Seaside has won by exactly one goal.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
David Garcia and
Haziel Vazquez, who scored both of Seaside's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 21 so far this season.
The victory got North Salinas back to even at 6-6-3. As for Seaside, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-6 record this season.
