The Hough Huskies will take on the Statesville Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Hough put up the most points they have all season last Tuesday. They blew past Porter Ridge, posting an 81-48 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hough to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tre Ratliff, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 24 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Ratliff now owns an excellent 45.1% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Byers, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Hough was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Statesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pine Lake Prep.

Hough will have to contain Manuel (MJ) Gladden as he made an impact in Statesville's last game. He shot 43% from the field en route to 22 points and five steals. That was a full 40% of Statesville's points, marking the fifth time in a row Gladden has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Williams, who scored four points and eight boards.

The victory got Hough back to even at 2-2. As for Statesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hough has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.5 rebounds per game.
