Hermitage is 2-8 against Glen Allen since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Glen Allen took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hermitage, who comes in off a win.
Hermitage is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on John Marshall with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Justices: they've now won five in a row.
Nathan Legano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Jordan O'Brien was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season. Adrian Hernandez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Hermitage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Glen Allen nor Godwin made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Jaguars took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Jaguars' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Hermitage's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Glen Allen, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.
Hermitage suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Glen Allen in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
