Basketball Recap: Spring Creek Gets the Win

If Dayton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Spring Creek, they should've done a better job of containing Ryan Youngblood. The Spring Creek Spartans blew past the Dayton Dust Devils, posting a 49-22 win thanks in part to Youngblood, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Dayton had strong showings from Aileen Hernandez, who posted nine points, and Madison Cleland, who scored seven points. Sadie Moore also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Spring Creek's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Dayton, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Spring Creek has already played their next contest, a 50-37 loss against Fernley on the 1st. Dayton has also already played their next matchup (against Elko), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
