Baseball Recap: Augusta Takes a Loss

Augusta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Collegiate Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 on Monday.

Dalton Apel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That run marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Mason Pocock, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Collegiate, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Augusta will host El Dorado at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Collegiate, they will be playing at home against Winfield at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
