Basketball Recap: Baylor Rank's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blue Valley Southwest over Blue Valley

Blue Valley Southwest lost against Blue Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves came up short against the Blue Valley Tigers, falling 73-53. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked tenth).

Blue Valley Southwest lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Baylor Rank, who posted 16 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Austin Steele was another key player, putting up six points.

Blue Valley Southwest's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Blue Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
