Volleyball Recap: Bellefonte Takes a Loss

If Bellefonte was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Central on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Penns Valley Area Rams by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Raiders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Bellefonte took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 21-25, 22-25, 25-17, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, Bellefonte saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sloan Moore had 21 digs and one assist. With that strong performance, Moore is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Delaney Gray also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Bellefonte's loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1. As for Penns Valley Area, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellefonte will venture away from home to take on Somerset at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Penns Valley Area, they will face off against Bishop McCort at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
