Softball Recap: Knappa Wins Going Away Against Nestucca

Knappa won the last time they faced Nestucca and things went their way on Friday too. The Loggers blew past the Bobcats 16-4. Considering the Loggers have won ten games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Knappa got a massive performance out of Saphira Pietila, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Pietila has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aubry Rusinovich, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Knappa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nestucca only posted an OBP of .348.

The victory made it two in a row for Knappa and bumps their season record up to 13-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Nestucca, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Knappa will have a chance to go back-to-back against Nestucca: the pair will be back at it again later today.
