Recap: Peyton Panthers vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions
The Peyton Panthers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Colorado Springs Christian Lions on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 36-34. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Peyton in their matchups with Colorado Springs Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Peyton's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Landon Hadley, who picked up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Noah Martin was another key contributor, throwing for 234 yards and four touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Jace Velasquez, who threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Will Moore also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Peyton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Peyton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Colorado Springs Christian also has no future games currently scheduled.
