Basketball Recap: Matt Corrigan and Mason Tobias Secure Win for Staples

Staples won the last time they faced Danbury and things went their way on Monday too. The Staples Wreckers walked away with a 42-34 win over the Danbury Hatters. The 42-point effort marked the Wreckers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Staples was led to victory by Mason Tobias and Matt Corrigan. Tobias went 6 for 11 to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds, while Corrigan posted ten points along with six boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Corrigan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Heyer, who had four points.

Staples' victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Danbury, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Staples will take on St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Danbury, they will face off against Bridgeport Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
