Volleyball Recap: Lewisville Comes Up Short

Lewisville extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-13. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Forney Jackrabbits. If the Farmers were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Jackrabbits when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Natalya Becker paced Lewisville's offense, picking up seven kills. Becker got some help from Aubrey Dean and her 13 assists. Maddi Fennell controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Forney, they now have a winning record of 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since August 21st.

Leading Forney to victory were Tatum Smith and Ashley Wojtowicz. Smith had 16 digs and four assists, while Wojtowicz had 19 assists and seven digs. That's the most assists Smith has posted over her last five matches.

Lewisville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Red Oak on the 29th. As for Forney, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Kaufman on the 28th.
