Basketball Game Preview: Waterloo Bulldogs vs. Meridian Bobcats

The Waterloo Bulldogs will challenge the Meridian Bobcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Waterloo has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Meridian will arrive with nine straight wins.

On Friday, Waterloo came up short against Mascoutah and fell 50-38.

Meanwhile, Meridian hadn't done well against Vienna recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went Meridian's way against Vienna as Meridian made off with a 74-53 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Waterloo better keep an eye on AJ Flenoid. He was instrumental in Meridian's win, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. Flenoid is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Javionne Ranson, who went 6 for 7 en route to 16 points.

Meridian's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.1 points. As for Waterloo, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
